“The term “triple threat” is tossed around a good deal, but Crista Moore is the very definition of it. But still another triple can be ascribed to her: smart, talented, and gracious. Who wouldn’t want someone like that in a room with their students? So, I asked Crista to teach a class with my musical theater majors and they were predictably ecstatic over the prospect of an encounter with a Broadway star. But after hearing Crista’s keen observations and down to earth approach to the actor’s life and work, based on many years working at the highest professional level, the students came away still star-struck, but with a much deeper understanding of the art and craft of musical theater.“

“It was such a treat to have Crista work with our theatre students at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. The wisdom and advice she imparted to our kids was truly valuable. During work sessions on a song or monologue, Crista’s investment in each student immediately made them feel comfortable and supported. She was able to get each actor to dig deep in a way that transformed their pieces. We can’t wait to have her come back next semester!”
—Michelle Petrucci, Dean of Theatre, Dreyfoos School of the Arts
“She was very encouraging to everyone who worked and was more than passionate about helping each student better themselves, and she always had insight as to how to get to that.”
—Theatre Junior, Jamie B.
“She began to really get into our pieces and work alongside us, so we felt comfortable. She made the environment really encouraging. Now that I understand the role my physicality plays in my work, I can use this technique to prepare for performances, which will help me a lot.”
—Theatre Junior, Isabella S.
“It was such a pleasure having you with us on Saturday-I thoroughly enjoyed your positive and enthusiastic spirit! In addition to being such a successful and talented performer, it’s clear that you have an enormous aptitude for coaching and teaching as well: I was so impressed by your ability to size up each of our students insofar as their individual journeys as artists and articulate specifics to each of them in a constructive, kind and positive way. You helped not only those students you worked directly with, but all of our Pre-Professional company members. My whole staff was duly captivated, and thankful that you were here, as were the students. Thank you for coming and being so generous with your time and talents on behalf of our kids.”
—Kathryn Hnatio Vicere, Education Director ATMTC Academy
SONG INTERPRETATION is a vital ingredient to the success of any musical production, as well as to the individual singer. While many can sing well, the one who usually gets the part is the singer who can clearly & fully express a moment and tell a story, giving the listener a unique & memorable experience.
Finding one’s own voice and interpreting material, whether music, lyric or monologue, is key.
Masterclasses are geared to working with individuals, through which the whole group comes away with an expanded understanding and way of working that helps them develop and strengthen their vocal performance, grounded in their own artistic sensibility.
